Top wireless and portable speakers for iPhone, Android and more
The market for wireless speakers, audio docks and full blown hi-fi style systems which use your smartphone or tablet is growing thanks to Apple promoting their own free wireless AirPlay service on TV every day.
Similarly, the explosion in growth of Android smartphones and tablets means that Bluetooth is now a popular and simple way of streaming music wirelessly to speakers because iPhone and iPad products can use the service too and you don’t need Wi-Fi to make it work. The third option which some wireless systems offer is a Wi-Fi system, outside of AirPlay, which simply uses your home network to throw songs to speakers via Spotify or a dedicated app that is designed for that particular system.
The choice of solutions for wireless music in the home is huge, depending on whether you need a system for your lounge, kitchen, bedroom, garden or even your suitcase.
Let’s take a look at these ten contenders....

For starters, most of the speakers on this list sound positively atrocious. Like the Beats and the Damson - seriously, these things are a joke...
And the Sonos and Monitor Audio systems are NOT "for smartphones or tablets". Yes, you can control the Sonos from a phone or tablet, but you can't stream to it from one (spreaming from a PC or NAS). And you can't stream to the Monitor Audio from a phone or tablet either - they use a USB dongle plugged into a PC/Mac for streaming. Ah well... but they pay MSN loads of advertising dollars, so slot'm in! :)
Now, if you are looking for wireless speakers for your PC or NAS then the Sonos and Monitor Audio are reasonable solutions. I say reasonable because you can do much, much better. Take a look at Libratone. Or the Dynausio Xeo - real stereo hifi speakers that happen to be wireless. Or the newly announced Moos Mini Aero - again, real stereo hifi speakers that just happen to potentially be the best wireless speakers out there.
I felt compelled to point out the Libtratone, the Xeo and the Mini Aero as these - particularly the Dynaudio and the Moos - are real contenders for "Best wireless speakers" (article''s title!), something none of the other speakers advertised (not reviewed!) in the article comes even close to being.
Have a 40" Samsung LED TV purchased as recommended for good audio by Which. .
The sound is desperately poor (admit my lugholes have had better days).
Am seeking to improve on the pathetic sound quality (would prefer to use wireless technology i.c.w. PC) but sound bars are expensive and of questionable performance.
Any suggestions/recommendations would be appreciated.
