The future of iOS, Apple's operating system for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, looks bright after iOS 6 was unveiled at the Apple WWDC keynote speech last night in the company's home town of San Francisco.
Although overshadowed somewhat by Apple's new range of MacBooks, the list of improvements and brand-new features in iOS 6 - more than 200, says Apple - make exciting reading ahead of its official launch. No date was revealed (other than sometime in the autumn), but current rumours suggest it will be rolling out some time in September - possibly alongside a new iPhone.
Like previous versions of iOS, it will be a free update to existing users, although sadly iPad 1 and third-generation iPod touch users will miss out, as will anyone still using an iPhone 3G or below.

I've had top of the range Nokias on Symbian and then Android phones from various manufacturers before finally succumbing to an iPhone and it's by far the best phone I've ever had. The camera is the best as is the call quality and general reliability. Some may see the new iOS6 as Apple being arrogant and getting too big for their boots but I see it as them NOT being complacent. You have a choice - if you don't like it, don't buy it. Personally, I shall upgrade to iOS6 and then get the new iPhone when it is launched - that happens to be my choice.

OK, so a way of Apple trying to get users of the older versions to upgrade?
Most of the iPhone updates have been on Andriod for a long while now and the dropping of Google maps could be a mistake as the last mapping app I saw from Apple was extremely US centric. Not impressed.

yet another update soon to come to mess up my iphone every time they do this I loose my tunes and they plead ignorance and its nothing to do with iphone its itunes you need to go to them and the only way is via e-mail and that takes forever and when the do get back to you they don't replace the lost music and movies they just duplicate what's left so you end up with double of every thing and it takes ages deleting them and not to mention siri as if you don't have the 4s the voice recognition is sh1t every time I use it, it dials or activates something not even remotely what you ask or said don't get me wrong it's very clever technology but there are way too many things wrong with the service they offer and its not as user friendly as they make out especially when there's a problem apple have made enough money now I think its time the drop there prices and improve there service and complaints process as it really stinks
