Sound advice on the top cans to buy
Hook up some outdoor speakers
As any self-respecting AV-lover knows, a good TV needs good sound to go with it, and that means a decent set of speakers - outdoor speakers in this case. Now, provided you go for a genuine outdoor TV, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find that they very often come with internal amplifiers so that you can add just about any weatherproof speakers you like. Don’t forget the weatherproof cabling or some serious layers of duct tape to seal them up nicely.
There are probably better outdoor speakers to go for, but, for pure kitsch value, we love the look of the Q Acoustics Qi65LW which are designed to look like pieces of rock in your garden. You know, rock that doesn’t match the rest of your patio and has lots of cable coming out the back of it. For something more sedate, the Monitor Audio Climate series are also very good.
If that all sounds a bit complicated, then fear not. The two leading outdoor TV brands - SunBrite and Aqualite - both sell you dedicated speakers bundled in.
