Facebook is getting a big shake-up. Out are the old, familiar profile pages, coming in are picture-laden, info-packed pages called Timelines. These present a chronological list of everything you've ever done on Facebook, ensuring all your old status updates and photos are preserved forever.

And it's coming soon. Very soon. Timeline has been opt in thus far, but Facebook has now announced on its blog that - love it or hate it - everyone's profiles will be switched over in the next few weeks.

Once your profile switches over, you'll have seven days to get your new page shipshape before it becomes visible to your friends. Read on for everything you need to know about Facebook Timeline to ensure you get off to a good start.

Some on here have missed the point of what face book is all about. Maybe it's been lost in translation. If you are wanting to keep your information personal, then do not put anything on the net. Face book is and always has been about getting as much information about it's user's as possible, more is better. (user's and information) ideally for face book to work at it's best all your information has to be shared, as that is what makes it work. (originally only meant for uni's where information was a must to share) since the global launch and new user's being scared of the release of their information along with the effect of the dollar, the information is now being used for marketing purposes, to help advertisers target you and your friends directly. This is nothing new as it's also the concept behind the web and the internet, seems to be forgotten about now days. So if your okay with that, then you now know how to use face book and should continue. If not then you should ask yourself who really is looking at the information/comment/like that i have just shared? Never miss-understand the speed of which your details are captured by a connection.

Oh, how the uneducated amongst the sheeple bleat!

Educate yourself to what's really happening in the world. Such things as the financial world of grand theft by Banksters paid billions in handouts to keep populations on the hook to trumped up debts, or the depravity of big pharmaceutical companies who cost the lives of over 100,000 people each year without redress due to their owning the regulators, a legal system which makes crimes of everyday activity for ordinary people whilst giving exemption to crooked elitists, who pay no taxes while ordinary people are inflated out of affording their very necesities, or the spread of GM food strains that despite warnings from researchers of the genetic damage & death on test animals fed this stuff, is allowed to contaminate the entire food supply. I could go on for pages about verifiable data and evidence that the s**t is gradually & in actuallity hitting the fan, but you & those like you would still be talking in cliches without any foundation or thought.

All this is steadfastly coming to your door Grizz no matter what you believe, so you'd do yourself a favour by understanding it sooner rather than later, my friend.

Search Youtube for  'The Moneymasters' for a start, & learn the history of how the system is run & by whom.

@ h fox (aweskerr1) we can't exactly pop round to a friends house for a natter and look over photos nor talk for hours on the phone if you don't have enough to cover the costs from UK to Texas or NZ etc, I for one could not afford those sort of calls, so for FB suits MY needs, yes there are 'other' sites that possibly do the same and yes Skype, but I HATE them, it's called freedom of choice, this is MY choice, just as it is MY choice who sees MY info.

Oh for crying out load people! There are plenty of privacy settings on Facebook now that let you control who sees what you post, more than there was before! & you can delete old posts if you no longer want them on there, it's not like they are permanent.

If you don't want people to know 'everything' then don't put it on Facebook!

If YOU don't like it then DONT USE IT!

I am very particular with exactly what info I give about myself, what I object to is any info I have HAD to enter but had the choice as to who could see it being taken away from me, in the past when there has been an 'upgrade' my settings have been changed so I have to re-do them in some cases this has not been easy to find either, so now if I don't have to enter info I don't it's not a case of telling un truths or hiding anything I just don't want the world and his dog knowing my business.

Facebook was partly funded indirectly by the CIA as it was seen as a way to gain access to personal data by unwitting participants. It is being promoted by various organisations who are funnelling people into using it. Legislation is being enacted to make it a crime to have false information about yourself as well as undermining the whole rule of law by a current bill that allows the indefinite inprisonment without trial of any US citizen on shaky grounds of terrorism which can easily be extended to anyone who tries to protest against the government there. For those people who understand that the system is being run to benefit the Elitists at the expense of the majority I advise to boycott Facebook & other such organisations, or at least be very wary of the information you give out about yourself.

Facebook needs to address all its other issues, such as why they let trolling and **** have profiles, yet they try to delete/disable ordinary peoples profiles for no good reason and dont even explain why. And they need to sort out why the thing is so bloody slow at times, its frustrating, much more important than all these new fandangled things that no one wants.

Facebook is not good!

It is a form of control of the human psychy.

More and More people are giving information about themselfs which can be accessed very easily.

It leads people into obessive thinking and self centeredness.

I CHALLEGE THE WHOLE SYSTEM

I have also noticed that the larger Timeline profiles are incredibly slow to load and slow my whole computer down.

Emma Butler; you are so right, also, marry me! looks and brains, good girl!

Having seen examples of this Timeline thing, I think the best thing I can do is to stop using Facebook. Why would people be interested in what you said or did years ago? I always thought Facebook was for day to day things, not some eternal log of your life. The whole thing seems very intrusive and rather creepy.

Face book is good for breaking news and info. around the world . .and to contact freinds and family. .
