Flight
The power of flight is a pretty basic requisite if you're a superhero, but now it's one humans can enjoy too. The Martin Jetpack comprises a gasoline engine and two ducted fans and, last year, the New Zealand-based manufacturer claimed the device had successfully completed an unmanned flight to 1,500 metres above sea level, flying at speeds of up to 60mph. The jetpack is also relatively simple to control: pitch and roll are controlled by one hand, yaw and the throttle by the others. The makers hope to launch the jetpack later this year, but with a price tag of £63,000 we can't see British Airways bosses losing any sleep.
