The BBC has launched an entirely new version of the iPlayer, called the BBC iPlayer Radio and - as the name clearly suggests - dedicated to making listening in to BBC radio stations and programmes easier, more pleasurable and increasingly social.

The new app will initially be available to download for iOS users from the Apple iTunes app store this week, which means that iPad, iPhone and iPod touch owners will be the first to get a glimpse of the Beeb's vision for the long-term future of radio. And quite an impressive vision it is, too! We've had a good look at the app on the iPad and here are the key things you need to know about the new iPlayer Radio.
