Nintendo has announced that the 3DS will be getting a size boost next month, with the release of the 3DS XL. The new handheld will have screens 90% larger than its predecessor, but a thinner bezel means the overall size of the handheld has only gone up 46%.

Nintendo are the new Apple, release a slightly "updated" version of the same console every 5 minutes, Nintendo lost their magic long ago when they dropped the brilliant N64. I wont buy from them anymore.

I would personally like to see nintendo drop the whole kiddie-friendly casual games facade; sony have it sewn up with the vita as relates to proper, high definition, console-style power and nintendo don't seem to realise that smartphones are now the platform of choice for casual, portable gaming and as for the 3d element, dolby just released a new 3d system that works on colour spectrums, which means you can just bundle in a dolby mode and put on the right glasses, no polarising needed.
