The DVD player and mobile charger rank highly on the endangered species list, according to gadget retailer Pixmania. Fair enough - but these are joined by relative youngsters such as the sat-nav and the 3G dongle. Could all 10 of these gadgets really go extinct in 2010?
"2009 has truly seen us take huge leaps forward and even greater developments are expected in 2010," says Kieran Alger, T3.com editor.
"Things that have been making life easier for a generation are about to be replaced. It's a shame to see an old classic like the DVD face the threat of extinction - it will be gone, but not forgotten."
