The London 2012 Olympics opening ceremony celebrated our embrace of modern technology.
Technology is playing a major role in the 2012 Games, but not just on Twitter and the BBC, the sports themselves have experienced a tech makeover. It includes equipment that can improve a competitor's performance, and technology that provides results more accurate than ever before. Developments over the last few years have meant athletes are more equipped for their sports, leading to many record-breaking moments in the last few Olympic Games.
