For as long as video games have existed there have been crazy peripherals to play them with. The late 80s and early 90s were a golden age for gaming tat, with legions of kids suckered into buying supposedly revolutionary devices for their SNES or Mega Drive. Headaches, ridicule and vastly reduced enjoyment were all par for the course after such purchases.
