NEW: discover more with the innovative Bing 'lasso'

Just like its desktop counterpart, the MSN iPad app uses Bing to search the web. The Bing search box can be found at the top of your screen.

However, with our brilliant new feature, you don't even need to type to start digging deeper. The Bing 'lasso' lets you quickly and easily start a web search by highlighting any text on the app.

Searching the web through our app is now even easier thanks to our new Bing 'lasso' feature.

Simply hold one finger on either the left or right margin of your screen until you see the hand symbol (shown left)appear. While still pressing down, use the other hand to circle the text that you want to search for.

Once that's done, you'll be whisked straight to a Bing results page - just as long as you are connected to the internet.

Don't worry about having to exit the app, Bing will perform a web search with the app running in the background - when you're done, just tap the blue 'Done' button to close the search window.

How about an Android tablet app? 34% of the tablet market IS Android and growing... (not to mention 54% of the smartphone market).

While we're at it - isn't HTML5 supposed to eliminate the need for apps like this?

Apple say Flash player uses a lot of processor power, not ideal for mobile devices. It is also being superseded so won't be supported for much longer.

Hopefully the new alternative will be ipad compatible as it is annoying having ltd videos.

I was going to buy an ipad 2 yesterday.

Reading the MSN news while waiting to go out I saw the news item that apple  are  going to bring out a new ipad in a few weeks.

Phew... I don't mind waiting a few weeks to get the latest.

I can view the site on my PC so why not on my iPad.

Flash is DEAD !

You'd think they would make a fuss about the Windows platform first

Not even MSN can resist its charms of the iOS platform

And windows phone 7.5 isn't supported?

Shame on you!
