Microsoft bid farewell to CES
Microsoft bid a fond farewell
Microsoft have been regular visitors to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES for short) in Las Vegas for nearly 20 years. And as the dust settles around 2012's extravaganza, Microsoft leave the stage for the last time. CES 2012 marked the last keynote for the tech giant after a varied but illustrious history at the event.
We look back at some classic moments from 2001-2011; a decade that saw former CEO Bill Gates give up his mantle and the launch of many a game-changing product.

your cosmetic I.T companies google and apple can not run the business world. They need microsoft to run it for them. microsoft is not the biggest software maker for nothing.
All things must pass, and twenty years is about long enough. Pity some TV and Radio executive producers don't take a hint and retire programmes like The Archers, Emerdale, Coronation Street and Eastenders.
There was once a showbiz maxim that as a performer, one should always retire at the top, leaving your audience wanting more. The Soaps are a classic example of the opposite in action. Boring trash. Microsoft themselves are about to discover this as well. That the world has moved on, and their products are in danger of becoming very stale. Windows 7 is just about acceptable - but only just.
