Windows 7 comes with all the software you need to watch and record TV on your PC, but you still need a TV tuner for your computer.

The simplest option is to purchase a USB TV tuner stick, which can be plugged straight into a spare USB port on your PC. Make sure that it's Windows 7 compatible before you spend any money - prices start from around £30 for a DVB-T (Freeview) model.

Although most TV sticks come with a portable antenna, these are rarely powerful enough to pick up a signal, so you really need to connect to your home TV aerial for the best results.

Also make sure you check www.freeview.co.uk availability before you buy if you don't currently have Freeview in your home.
