MSN UK: search with Bing
Regular visitors to MSN UK will already know about our search engine Bing, and we hope you find it useful. On the new MSN UK, it is now easier than ever to fire off a search query and find what you're looking for anywhere on the web.
Find it fast
On the MSN UK homepage you have long been able to search from two different places: at the top and at the bottom of your screen respectively.
You'll see from the screenshot shown above that we have made the Bing search bar at the top of the MSN UK homepage clearer and bolder. We've removed the clutter around it and placed it in a fresh new page header to help you find faster the things you are looking for.
How to search
The tabs above the search box remain in place. To start your search, click inside the search box and start typing. Hit the 'Web Search' button to begin your search or strike the 'enter' or 'return' key on your keyboard.
By default, your search will return results from the web. You can narrow your search to get the results you want more quickly by choosing to search 'images', 'video', 'shopping', 'news' or 'maps'.
And if you want to search just within MSN UK itself - click on the 'MSN' tab.
If you use the footer search box or the new scrolling search header you will do a web search. Try it yourself, visit the MSN UK homepage and start searching with Bing.
Autosuggest search results
Autosuggest helps you get to results faster by suggesting words or phrases that match the first few keystrokes of your search.
These suggestions help you type less and get you on your way to better search results faster.
Autosuggest is turned on by default. You can try it out in the search box at the top (or bottom) of any page on MSN UK now.
You can turn History on or off at any time or selectively remove any portion of your search history using the 'Page Options' menu.
