Microsoft Surface tablet now available

Following Microsoft's double launch events for Windows 8 and Surface, crowds flocked to Times Square to witness the official opening of Microsoft's new Store and the chance to bag themselves a Surface. In New York news travels fast, the buzz was so big that New York City police officers were forced to temporarily close off 7th Avenue to make way for the first in line.

Surface is Microsoft's first foray into the tablet world - there will be two models available, one available now (Surface RT) and another to follow (Surface Windows 8 Pro). Surface with Windows RT is available now from the UK Microsoft Store.
