$1.1 billion spent by web giant - but why? Here's all you need to know
Going wireless
The 8.7 megapixel camera is a big feature of the Lumia 920 - not only through Windows Phone 8's camera controls, but Nokia's own PureView technology, which helps stabilise images and allows the camera to capture more light than rival devices. Nokia says that this means the 920 will excel in low-light conditions where many other smartphone cameras struggle.
Another feature of the 920 is wireless charging - something augmented by third party partners, including a deal with Virgin Atlantic to provide wireless charging stations at Heathrow airport, and something called the Fatboy Recharge Pillow, which is a pillow that will recharge your phone.
