Apple finally launched its latest beauty in San Francisco last night. MSN Tech and Gadgets was at the invite-only simultaneous broadcast of the event in central London - here's all you need to know about the iPhone 5.
Ignore the fact that the iPhone 5 is in fact the sixth-generation iPhone - this is Apple's way of saying that this is a big step away from the iPhone 4S which was cosmetically near-identical to its predecessor. And it's certainly strikingly different from the look of earlier iPhones, though just as clearly related to them all.

Not an apple fan but I really thought the iphone 5 would have changed that.Very disappointed with the design.They might as well have called it the iphone 4si.Change the design,interface and come up with new specs before you come up with a new phone.Steve jobs would have been very disappointed

Bwa-ha-ha-haaaa!!! What a pathetic show from Apple! Where has their creativity gone?!
I was a die-hard Apple fan when I brought my iPhone 4 (I have Apple everything), but when I learnt that the 4S actually brought nothing new or exciting to the table I switched to Android and can quite honestly say my Samsung Galaxy Note knocked the iPhone 4/4S clear out of the park. All the Apple fanboys in the office kept saying "you'll regret it, you'll end up wanting to switch back, oh and look I can speak to my phone and do things with it, you'll miss out not having Siri!" Well my ill-educated friends, I've used Siri and watched others trying to use it and quite simply nine times out of ten it can't understand any English accent, whether you be speaking Queen's English, like a yam-yam, like a scouser, like a geordie or like a scot. However, voice recognition on the Galaxy - work's like a charm! Typing on the Galaxy is ten times easier and faster too, especially when using Swpe.
Having seen my sister's new Samsung Galaxy SIII I definitely won't be going back to an iPhone, they haven't even overhauled the iOS since its inception!
I'm not sure what Steve Job's would have made of all this, they've gone from being revolutionary visionaries to boringly churning out the same handset with nothing really new on it. Only fool would spend all that money on a new handset that's simply been a bit tweaked!
Apple grow a set and do something new!

Iphone 5s will be out in 10 months time. same design, except the 5s will be a little bit faster.

Apple changed very little but one change that will be noticed is the new connector. if you have a nice Bose or other expensive docks you'll have to shell out over £20 for another adaptor to adapt to the old one.
Apple can of course get away with it as the largest company in the world by stock value.
The fact that Apple is arrogant towards its customers probably escapes most of the kids who want the phone because that is what the rest of the herd considers it a "cool" thing to have.

How ridiculous. They weren't exactly heavy or cumbersome to start with, and there's nothing ground breaking here, and I couldn't care less that it's 7.6 or 8.6 mm thick etc. Why can't phone manufacturers make phones, say 10mm thick so we get a proper battery life that lasts more than a day and a half?
