Top smartphones to buy in 2012
Today's top handsets are as much mobile computers as mobile phones, allowing us to use thousands of handy apps, play games, watch movies and listen to hours of music from almost anywhere in the world.
But with numerous models available - including a new generation of quad-core processor handsets - it can be tricky to know which phone is best suited to your needs. The high cost of some PAYG smartphone handsets, and the long contracts associated with the most desirable phones, can complicate matters further.
Fear not, however, as we've rounded-up our top ten handsets to help you decide. Read on to see which models made the cut this month.
both phones have very similar spec however;
iphone 4s - £500
* you have to pay for ringtones
*only compatible with other apple products
*no micro SD support
samsung galaxy s2 - £360
*free ringtones
*compatible with all android phones
*supports micro SD
Samsung galaxy s2 is better value for money and more practical, anyone who gives this a thumbs down is obviously an apple fan because its just common sense.
I got a HTC One X on release day and all I can say is if you can get over the fact that it is a massive phone screen-wise it is an absolutly stunning phone. Its fast, light, the picture and video quality far surpasses nearly any other phone out there and loads up quicker than any phone I have seen so far.
Also, no review seems to mention the HTC car feature, whereby if you have a cradle for you phone you can but you phone into a basic layout designed for use in your car, amazing feature that should be rolled out onto more phones in the future.
Also, it should be noted that the speaker quality for music is suprisingly good... its crisp, loud and plenty of bass for a phone. Basically if you wish to listen to music out loud you really dont need to get any attachable speakers the built in ones do just as good a job.
The only disappointment I find so far is some apps do not come out pin sharp on the phone due to the stretching to fit the screen, however this issue will most likely be resolved as more of these tablet/smartphone products come out.
If you are looking for a new phone anytime soon I highly recommend this phone or I would suggest waiting for the Samsung Galaxy S3.
By the way im not here to start a massive debate about the phone or its quality this is just my humble opinion so far, if it convinces any one buy the phone I hope you have as much joy with it as I currently am. :) Peace n love internet.
