7. Samsung Galaxy Note II
The Samsung Galaxy Note II is a hugely successful mobile Android device - the Korean giant has just announced that sales of its Galaxy Note II smartphone have topped more than three million since its launch in September. Not bad going for a 'phablet'.
"People love a big screen it seems and, in smartphone terms at least (if, in fact it is a smartphone and not a tablet) there's nowt bigger than the 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display of the Samsung Galaxy Note II. When paired up with Samsung's special stylus - dubbed the S Pen - the Note II becomes an incredibly intuitive mobile partner, albeit one that may make you look a bit silly when making a call (think Dom Joly in Trigger Happy TV)."

"We're in love. This phone may seem wildly illogical, but those fabulous Koreans have somehow managed to create a device that offers so much more than a smaller phone and almost makes tablets pointless. This phone won't be for everyone, but for us it's one of the best Android devices money can buy." Ian Morris, Pocket-lint.

I love my old easy-to-use Nokia
I can send and receive 'phone calls.
Marvellous!
both phones have very similar spec however;
iphone 4s - £500
* you have to pay for ringtones
*only compatible with other apple products
*no micro SD support
samsung galaxy s2 - £360
*free ringtones
*compatible with all android phones
*supports micro SD
Samsung galaxy s2 is better value for money and more practical, anyone who gives this a thumbs down is obviously an apple fan because its just common sense.
It is illogical, to keep on spending our hard earn cash, on phones that just have a few extras,
for every 6 months there is a new phone on the market, one situation is that the more complex phone will use more power, at one time small phones were good to have, now we have noticed phones getting larger, there will be no end to phone's that are enhanced futures, but for sure, we use phones to contact each other, and in the truth most of use don't need to spend so much of our hard earn cash on £400 phones, most of us can cope with £20 phone and a pay as you go sim.
for sure very basic phones have low battery consumption, and more complex phones have displays that cannot be seen in the sunshine, the type that have touch keypad.
some of us spend 100's of £ on so expensive phones that can view internet and send emails, but we all forget that we have a pc at home that can be used when we get back home from work, looking at the facts do we need to spend so much on mobile phones ?, I am sure a £20 phone can call up my friends the same as a £400 phone.
For sure phone manufactures have a way to make us spend money every time a new gadget on the phone comes out !
The more we keep spending large amounts of hard earn cash on items that have been built for a fraction of the cost, the manufactures will keep the price up high, the less we are tempted to spend on such devices, then I can only see the price will reduce to a more affordable amount. still think a laptop and a cheap phone can do more for me than a small phone that tries to mimic a camera, phone and laptop.
Why do I need an expensive gadget phone when I have a laptop which can do more than a small gimmick "smart phone" that's twice the price of a laptop after two years contract !.
is it possible to buy a fifteen pound phone, and be happy with that on pay as you go, yes indeed true.
If we all buy a new phone every year to two years all I can see is a landfill of phones getting larger !
Oh plus we all in dept to the phone companies all our lives.
I've had the iphone since almost the end of 2009, it was nice, unique. I switched into Galaxy Note around a week ago. I got 3 words for you.. Its a keeper!!!! Android rules.
I had a iphone 4 and itunes store is a joke plus you cant change much on the phone.
The screen is very good but the iphone is very restrictive i.e. you cant even change the battery or add more memory
now have the Galaxy s2 with 16gb plus a 16gb card = 32gb memory and it's miles better im never buying an overrated iphone again.
Android rules
Am I glad I am not one of the Apple clones. These people resolutely refuse to belive that the world wasn't created by Steve Jobs in 7 days. I like to believe I have enough intelligence to actually look at specifications AND price and make an informed judgement. This is why, over the years, I have owned phones by most of the major brands. One thing I would never do is place an order for a phone that hasn't been released just because of the brand. Even Apple have released turkeys into the wild.
I ain't knocking the iPhone, it's a good piece of kit. BUT at that price, I think not.
I had an iPhone 4 for 2 years, and I can say it's a really good phone and I never had any problems with it. But they're just so...boring. My Samsung Galaxy note is on its way, and I can't wait to start customising the hell out of it :)
