The humble smartphone - such a great gadget can carry out pretty much any computing chore you care to think of, but it's not going to stop there. Alongside the rapidly developing hardware, it's the apps that are really transforming the way we live our lives.
However, results are only as good as the software inside your device. This is something that Apple knows all too well from its recent Maps disaster. If apps and other programs don't work properly then your customers aren't going to be at all happy. Lockitron is a keyless device that works with a user's smartphone to automatically lock and unlock their doors. The magic is achieved using a combination of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and NFC (near field communication) technology.

Lovely. So when some lowlife nicks yer phone, he can get into yer house without breaking a window. Why don't we just go buy a smartphone and hand it over to the hoodie-wearing light-fingered brigade and simply avoid getting mugged.

all it is , is technological "TAT" tech just fit for the dusbin
Apps are just for the idle few.
there is nothing wrong with the good old lock.and why would you want to open your front door many miles away, dont make sense.
plus we are getting away from what a phone is for,
Is it a cure for boredom , you see many folk stood there just playing with the god dam things.

Wait until hackers find a way of opening your doors and get into your house. They did for BMW cars so it won't be that much different.

I have commented on this before but all these apps such as sat nav need a decent signal, take that away and how smart is your phone then. I recently went on a car trip to Wales and tried to use my phone to navigate the route. The signal went and so did the navigation. Had to revert to my Garmin. This is the major weakness in so called "Smart Phones" and its not just in Wales, my home town is not much better. I am a 4G sceptic as I cant even seem to recieve a reliable 3G so what are the network providers doing about that?
