Samsung Galaxy NX
When Samsung unleashed the Galaxy Camera at the end of last year there were two burning questions on everybody’s’ lips. Firstly, why no voice-calling features on what is essentially a smartphone / camera combo and secondly, when will Android make its way to Samsung’s more advanced camera range? The former has been addressed by way of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom and the latter by this, the Samsung Galaxy NX.
The Samsung Galaxy NX is a blurring of two of Samsung’s most successful divisions; its interchangeable lens NX-range compact system cameras and its mobile Android devices. The result is a fully-functional CSC with Android Jelly Bean thrown into the mix to run the show.
The ‘world’s first 4G interchangeable lens camera’ is like the Samsung Galaxy Camera on steroids. As well as packing all the software features that Android allows, the Galaxy NX is also a heavy hitting ‘real’ compact system camera. And, by real, we mean a 20.3-megapixel APS-C Sensor, DRIMe IV image signal processing, an advanced hybrid auto focus, a 1/6000 second shutter speed and 8.6fps burst shooting.
No word on pricing as of yet, we’re told the Samsung Galaxy NX will hit the shops this summer. Take a look at our hands-on Galaxy NX preview.
