Nikon announces five new cameras including Coolpix S9700 with 30x optical zoom
Nikon has announced a flurry of five new cameras to its Coolpix line-up including the S9700, P600 and the P340.
The Nikon Coolpix S9700 is a 30x optical zoom compact camera that features a back-illuminated 16-megapixel sensor and a 25-750mm equivalent lens.
There is also a 5-axis hybrid vibration reduction for image stabilisation, along with GPS and built-in Wi-Fi. It will be available in black, red and white from the end of February for £330.
The Nikon Coolpix P600 was also introduced along with the Coolpix P530, both of which are superzoom cameras with fixed lenses but different zoom capabilities.
The Coolpix P600 has a 60x optical zoom Nikkor lens, extendable up to 120x with the digital Dynamic Fine Zoom, covering 24-1440mm.
The Coolpix P530 on the other hand, has a 42x optical zoom, extendable to 84x and it comes with a back-illuminated 16-megapixel CMOS sensor.
Both the Coolpix P600 and P530 come with a 921kdots LCD display and are capable of Full HD video. The P600 will come in black and red from 27 February for £429.99 while the P530 will be available in black from 13 February for £329.99.
Nikon also announced the Coolpix P340, which succeeds the P330 and brings Wi-Fi to the party. It comes with a back-illuminated 12-megapixel 1/1.7-inch sensor and 24-120mm f/1.8-5.6 equivalent zoom lens.
You will be able to pick up the P340 from the end of February in black or white for £350.
Finalising the new additions was the Coolpix AW120, a new tough and waterproof camera that has a 16-megapixel snapper and brings an ultra-wide 24mm f/2.8 lens with 5x optical zoom to the line up.
The Coolpix AW120 can handle up to 18-metres underwater, is shockproof to survive 2-metre drops and can withstand cold to -10C. It will be available in black, blue, orange and camouflage at the end of February or £330.
