After Microsoft announced its entrance into the tablet market with Surface last week, we knew it was only a matter of time before we saw Google come forward with its tablet-shaped two pennies. And we didn't have to wait very long at all.
As part of Google's I/O 2012 keynote speech, the covers were pulled off of the Nexus 7 tablet, a seven-inch device made in association with Asus.

It wont, as the other companies will always have the excuse of build quality and brand recognition to keep their prices artificially high.
Whilst Android and Windows have superior versatility compared to Apple's iOS, Apple have the brand recognition, and other Android tablet producing manufacturers such as Samsung have superior build quality.
If you want a cheap Android device, look in to Raspberry Pi and the other micro devices that are available right now.
