How to stay in touch using technology during the festive season
Either model can be equipped with one of two magnetic covers, both of which feature built-in keyboards and trackpads. The 3mm-thick Touch Cover uses multi-touch technology to give an ultra thin profile, while the thicker Type Cover has physical keys and clickable trackpad buttons.

To all you apple I-pad freaks
Tablet devices were out a long time before apple got into the market, they just took it to another level.
They will now be left behind by the likes of Microsoft and android as they do not allow USB or any other device out of there control.
Apple are control freaks and most of what they have has been stolen (SIRI Lol, I had that 10 years ago and it hasn’t got better).
Apple i pad. Really is just a toy. people buy it for the name not for it being functional. It has a small capacity.
A pc tablet is far superior in everyway. It has USB ports, A HD connection port, Sim card slot, SD card slot. A bigger hard drive capacity, More memory.Wi Fi etc. It has all the functions of an an Apple I pad but far superior.than an Apple I pad.
I think i will stick with my pc tablet though for the moment.
Microsoft are up against it in anything that they introduce, as the pubic perception of them has developed into an apparently 'ordinary' brand, whilst Apple has nurtured a 'cult' type of customer dedication. This enables Apple to bring out and refine products which sell at a premium price to devotees, whereas Microsoft (and related) products are subject to the 'discount' mentality amongst potential buyers. It is the same in the car market where, say, BMW is perceived to be more 'desirable' than, say, Ford, enabling BMW to command a very profitable premium price. Yes, Apple certainly broke the aesthetic mould in, for instance, relieving us from having all hardware casings coloured 'dull putty' and now, thankfully, other manufacturers have realised that black or other colours can be desirable. Conclusively, though, just so long as your chosen computer or other device does what you bought it for, it is fairly irrelevant whether it is Microsoft or Apple - make your choice and pay your money.
Apple ipad are nice looking tool but it’s a dressed up old idea from laptops the first time around in which technology has moved on and become more affordable and products with better CPUs & better battery life which have all come a long way and it will all come down to cost and will it work with all my other stuff? So the market is mostly PCs be it at home or work says no more
Finally... true multi-tasking, a file system, external connectivity (microsdx and USB3.0) and not too shabby storage (64-128gb SSD) for a full windows on a tablet!
Now MS, get the screen resolution right so I can read some books where the writing is crisp and the battery life is half-decent and I'll live with the compromises...
Get the 3G/4G onboard (somehow) by launch time and ipad can go snuggle itself between someone's panties where it may actually be useful if somewhat uncomfortable.
I've been waiting for this for 2 years. About time too for launching your own brand..
Have been using windows 8 on my pc, it takes a while to adapt but can see it as a step forward. Plus never had a single crash on a preview that's something new from MS lol.
Its perfect for the phone/tablet market, Metro live apps are fast responsive and a vast improvement on the dead icon of the past. Depending on price I would consider this a major challenge for the ipad.
Firstly it comes down to your own opinion, ie you might like Apple over Microsoft which is fine. I think this tablet looks great and hopefully will rival the iPad. Theres no reason it shouldn't, Windows 8 will be a great experience for users but again comes down to your own opinion.
A sidenote: I see people saying MS are late, they shouldn't do this etc, well they got a right to and I think this would be good for consumers, also MS have been using this system for some time now just not as a tablet.
