what I would like to know is why the hell should we pay companies like sky and virgin for tv and still have to pay for a bloody tv licence just one other way for us to screwed out of money in an time when it is already hard enough to make ends meet.
Quite happy to wait for the prices to come down then!! £299.99 IS EXPENSIVE for most people!
And as for being able to watch more 'catch up' programs, most are repeats anyway!
Would sooner someone did something about the constant loss of picture due to weather conditions now we have all been forced onto digital. One thing with the old signal you never lost your picture due to weather!!
What a waste of time. I give it two years at most before its ditched and forgotten about.
What many of us would really like is the facility and ability to simply buy and access those programs we want from the likes of Sky (or other pay per view broadcasters) at an affordable price without having to fork out shed loads of money each month simply to be able to watch the odd bit of sport or the odd bit of American dross.
I gave up on Sky and switched to Freesat with a one-off cost up front because I could get 95% of what I wanted on terrestrial channels. I've saved myself over £60 a month since switching.
The only thing I occasionally miss is Saturday afternoon sport. YouView is destined to be another lame duck just like Sugar's foray into the phone business. Why doesn't he try to get ahead of the game instead of dragging behind it?
The fairly hefty price has nothing to do with the "Large hard drive" 500Gb isn't large by todays standards, you can buy one for your pc for £50. So if you removed that from the equation £250 is still a bit pricey for a set top box.
A little too little, a little too late IMO. If only it came out 4 years ago.
Oh dear.
No wireless. No net browser.
I could get a new TV that does what this box does and more for £599.
Even clicking through the review links made my internet connection crash.
Sugar crash
How many more set top boxes can we get. me i have HD box as freeview is built into my tv..
My hd box was only £99.00, why is he charging £299.00? What more channels, also showing more and more repeats. I rest my case.
£300....... youre fired
